The course curriculum gives an equal platform to students from varied backgrounds. It is theoretically sophisticated, empirically grounded and multi-disciplinary in orientation. The program is divided into three major components :
Familiarizes students with basic social sciences and provides grounding in theoretical understanding of 'development' through courses such as development theories, development economics, public economics, environment and sustainable development, and institutions, governance and policies
Equips students with analytical tools - quantitative and qualitative research methods, philosophical and methodological foundations of development research, and project planning and evaluation, and
Delves into theme-based perspectives and as part of the program, the students must write an original dissertaion based on field research.
